Everett Griner talks about a farmer raising table meat in today’s Agri View.
I have had a good deal of material come to my desk recently about how farming is changing. Let me tell you about one farmer I read about. He raises table meat. Like the meat you prepare for your family meal. But he doesn’t raise cattle or hogs. He produces goats, sheep, poultry, chickens and turkeys. And, they are not common animals. They are specifically bred and specially fed all the way to market. Now that’s all I know about it, but I am assured the meat is favorable and tasty. I am also assured it is more costly. See he processes his own. He dresses and freezes his own turkeys. One will cost you fifty or seventy five dollars. Now can he succeed with prices like that? Well, he keeps increasing his inventory every year. That’s what I read. I’ll let you know more when I find out.
That’s Agri View for today, I’m Everett Griner.
