ga-grown-logoGeorgia Grown is extremely grateful to be the recipient of the 2016 Power Partner Award for their Partnership Commitment to the Georgia Visitor Information Centers, which was presented at the Regional Visitor Center’s Annual Convention at Lake Lanier.

We are appreciative to the centers for providing us a venue to promote the real strength of the Georgia Grown program, our members.

“There is more interest than ever in not only purchasing locally grown items, but actually taking part in the agricultural experience, and gaining a better understanding of what our farmers encounter as they continue to provide the safest and most abundant food supply in the world.” – Commissioner Gary W. Black

Agriculture represents Georgia’s largest industry, contributing $72 billion in economic impact. The state’s second largest industry, tourism, represents a $53.6 billion contribution to our economy. Combining these two sectors can have a multiplier effect in our communities. The tremendous growth in the agritourism market is a representation of our partnership with economic development. From pumpkins to peaches, corn mazes to the Christmas trees, you will find Georgia agritourism has it all. Across the state, our agriculture industry is steeped in deep tradition and pride and it is our privilege to share those experiences with you.
