When it comes to election results in this race or any other for that matter, it is not so much about the “who”, but the “what.” I hope going forward the candidates will dare to articulate a consistent message about rural America. We need specifics, not sound bites, about where the candidates stand on important topics such as the elimination of the death tax, implementation of crushing regulations like WOTUS and FSMA, rural healthcare accessibility, and beneficial trade deals. And while some might touch on topics such as these while stumping in rural Iowa, I would like to see these crucial issues brought into the mainstream of discussion everywhere.”
