From the Florida Department of Environmental Protection:

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection invites residents and visitors across the state to celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22. The department is partnering with organizations statewide to host state park cleanups, educational workshops and celebratory festivals.

Earth Day is a nationwide event that began on April 22, 1970, making this the 45th anniversary of the annual event. Events on Earth Day spread education and awareness about the impact every person has on the health of the planet.

In Florida, DEP will host events through April 26. The events provide a wide range of activities so that everyone can find a way to celebrate Earth Day. For a complete list of DEP-affiliated Earth Day events throughout to the state, click here.
