U.S. SUGAR CHRISTMAS FOOD PROJECT DISTRIBUTED 4100 BAGS OF SUGAR AND NEARLY 2500 TURKEYS

USsugarClewiston, FL – December 22, 2014–U.S. Sugar executives and Human Resources personnel distributed Christmas gifts of 4100 bags of sugar and 2468 turkeys to its employees, local law enforcement and city and county support staff as well as local church and charity organizations.

“What began as Christmas food gift to our employees has grown to include our local law enforcement and public support staff in Clewiston, Hendry and Glades counties,” said Judy Sanchez, senior director of corporate communications and public affairs.

“These gifts were a small way to express our appreciation for our dedicated employees and also to provide a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to the law enforcement, emergency services and other public service personnel in our area,” Sanchez said.

Food gifts were also presented to Catholic Charities, other local churches and the Gertrude Walden Child Care Center.

“U.S. Sugar has been in the farming business since 1931, and we’re happy to provide this Christmas food for our community,” said Sanchez.

Sanchez said that the Christmas food distribution was coordinated by Matthew Kindermann and U.S. Sugar’s human resources department.
