Washington, DC – Republican Agriculture Commissioners Committee (RACC) Executive Director Tim Barnes this evening issued the following statement:
“Tonight voters throughout the country made it clear: They are thrilled with the hard work and dedication being put forth by their elected Republican agriculture leaders. When given the opportunity, voters returned 6 incumbents to office with resounding victories, and opted to keep a Republican in the one open seat up this year. After decisively winning all 7 of the secretary and commissioners of agriculture seats up this year – it’s clear voters trust these leaders with their ag future. ”
Republicans were re-elected in the following states:
Alabama – Commissioner John McMillan
Florida – Commissioner Adam Putnam
Georgia – Commissioner Gary Black
Iowa – Secretary Bill Northey (Northey received the most votes of any candidate on the ballot)
North Dakota – Commissioner Doug Goehring
South Carolina – Commissioner Hugh Weathers
Republican Sid Miller won the open Texas seat
