After lots of anticipation, the annual USDA Citrus Crop Forecast numbers were unveiled at noon Friday as they were released here on Southeast AgNet. State Administrator Candi Erick of USDA Ag Statistics Southern Region Florida field office says the USDA forecast for Florida all oranges is higher than many expected at 108 million boxes total, from 52 million projected for the early and mids and 56 million boxes for the valencias.  Southeast AgNet’s Gary Cooper had brief followup comments from Erick during our live broadcast. Erick says they believe there is reason this initial forecast number is what it is.
