Tallahassee, Florida – The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has announced it has expanded the “Fresh From Florida”: On the Menu” program to six Tallahassee restaurants for a special spring promotion.

“Our ‘Fresh From Florida’ brand helps consumers in grocery stores and markets across the country and globe to identify fresh Florida produce, seafood and more,” said Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam. “We’re proud to partner with restaurants in Tallahassee to showcase Florida products and let folks choose to eat fresh, locally grown products while dining out with friends and family.”

Restaurants who are participating in the program will feature produce grown by Florida farmers and seafood caught in Florida waters. Examples of menu choices include a fresh Florida Citrus Salad – made with mixed artisan lettuce, spiced pecans, locally produced cheese, Florida oranges and lemon vinaigrette – and Florida Surf & Surf – a unique combination of a Florida fish of the day and a Florida spiny lobster tail. Of course, fresh Florida Key Lime Pie will also be “On the Menu.”

The following Tallahassee restaurants will begin participating in this spring promotional program on Tuesday, March 18:

Andrew’s 228
Avenue Eat & Drink
Cypress
Kool Beanz Café
The Front Porch
Shula’s 347 Grill
