Tallahassee, FL – Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam and the Florida Cabinet recognized a Marianna-based small business, Southern Craft Creamery, for being named Garden & Gun’s overall winner of the fourth annual “Made in the South” awards. Southern Craft Creamery’s handcrafted ice cream is made from their family-owned dairy.

“Southern Craft Creamery is a wonderful example of the innovation of Florida’s agricultural producers,” said Commissioner Putnam. “The family behind this business exemplifies the farm-to-table movement, starting with their own dairy cows and local produce, to ensure only the best fresh Florida ingredients end up in their delicious ice cream.”

Garden & Gun magazine recognized Southern Craft Creamery owners Lauren and Zach O’Bryan for using family-owned dairy cows from their Marianna farm and local ingredients, including blackberries, satsumas and sweet corn, to make their gelato-style ice cream. The “Made in the South” awards celebrate the culture and tradition of Southern craft and taste. The awards are given in the categories of food, drink, outdoors, home and style and design.
