According to the Quarterly Hogs and Pigs Report released by USDA, the U.S. inventory of all hogs and pigs was 65.9-million head as of March 1st, an increase of one-percent over a year ago. The breeding herd inventory, at 5.8-million head, is up slightly from last year, while the market hog inventory totaled just over 60-million head, an increase of two-percent from a year ago.
