Citrus Acreage Declines, but “Hope on the Horizon”
Although Florida’s citrus acreage declined two percent in the last year, Vero Beach grower and packer George Hamner Jr. says he sees “hope on the horizon.” Hamner, chair of the Citrus Crop Estimates Advisory Committee, also reacts to a report that abandoned grove acreage held steady in the past year.
