FROM THE FIELD
Current Information on the Carbendazim Issue
The Florida citrus industry scrambled for information last week after learning that carbendazim fungicide not allowed on oranges in the United States had been detected in some orange juice – probably imported from Brazil. Hear a summary report, including what action the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is taking and what juice company reported the detection. Read the FDA fact sheet that details protocol for sampling imports of orange juice for carbendazim and provides weekly updates every Friday on sampling results. Learn what juice company is going back to using only Florida oranges and find out how Florida citrus industry leaders are handling the carbendazim issue.
