AL-FL Peanut Show is Thursday

The annual Alabama-Florida Peanut Trade Show is coming up this Thursday, February 10th in Dothan as Tyron Spearman says growers from across the Southeast are invited to attend.

Peanut growers in the tri-states area will have the opportunity to see the latest advances in peanut growing, harvesting and other related equipment at the Alabama/Florida Peanut Trade Show which will be held at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds in Dothan, Al on Thursday February 10.

The Trade Show is sponsored by the Alabama Peanut Producers Association and the Florida Peanut Producers Association. More than 60 exhibitors will attend the Trade Show to display their products, visit with farmers and offer information.

One exhibitor, Kelley Manufacturing Company, will provide the grand door prize of one season’s use of a new four or six row KMC peanut combine valued at $10,000.00. At the end of the season, the winner will have the option of purchasing the combine after a reduction of the list price of $10,000.00. More than $20,000.00 in door prizes will be offered.

“With production cost continuing to increase, it is important that producers operate as efficiently as possible,” says Ken Barton, executive director Florida Peanut Producers Association. “This Trade Show provides producers the opportunity to gain valuable information that will be helpful in producing a high yielding, high quality crop in 2011. We invite all farmers to attend.”

The Trade Show opens at 8:30 am (cst). A catered lunch will be provided with a production meeting/seed seminar following.
