Randall Weiseman Florida, General, Livestock

The fifth installment of AGRItunity 2011, the annual conference and trade show designed to meet the needs of farmers large and small, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the West Central Florida Agricultural Center near Bushnell, Florida. Back by popular demand, the Pre-AGRItunity 2011 Farm Tours will take place on Friday, January 28, 2011.

The AGRItunity 2011 Planning Committee is proud to announce that Mr. Daniel Salatin of Polyface Farm ( http://www.polyfacefarms.com/ ) in Swoope, VA will share experiences from his family’s unique livestock operation in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and discuss “Relationship Marketing” in the General Session. Along with topics in the Livestock Sessions such as pasture management, goat production and pastured pork, Mr. Salatin will make a presentation entitled “Salad Bar Beef”. Topics such as enhancing native and introduced pollinators, advanced peach production and alternative citrus production for north and central Florida are planned in the Crops Sessions.

Once again, a trade show featuring products and farm equipment for the Florida farm will be a “must see” portion of AGRItunity 2011. An “Alternative Energy Showcase” will be featured in the Outside Demonstration Area, along with animals and antique equipment.

On-line registration will be available in October at http://sumter.ifas.ufl.edu. Anyone interested in further information or being placed on the contact list for registration materials, as well as companies or other groups interested in being a sponsor or exhibitor please contact:
