GA Congressman Wants Review of GIPSA Rules

There are various concerns about the proposed change to the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration’s rule on livestock marketing. U.S. Representative Jack Kingston from Georgia sent a letter to U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack this week asking him to conduct a sound economic analysis of the livestock marketing rules proposed by GIPSA. And National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Colin Woodall urges producers to contact their elected officials to follow the lead of Kingston and others.
