
In the first of these reports, University of Florida cell geneticist Jude Grosser says genetic efforts to produce HLB-resistant trees probably won’t produce results for a decade. But he says in the second report that a scientist could “get lucky” and find a quicker path to disease resistance. In the third report, he addresses the process of getting resistant trees into growers’ hands once a resistant gene is found.
