Bronson to Tour & Meet With Small Farmers Over Food Safety Regulations

TALLAHASSEE — Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson will join senior food safety officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to meet with Florida produce growers to get their input and concerns about the impact that increased food safety regulations will have on small farmers.

The officials will tour the Plant City Farmer’s Market on Thursday, October 22, at 12:45 p.m. and will hold a media availability.

The following day, Friday, October 23, they will attend a “Small Farms Produce Safety Listening Session” from 9 a.m. to noon at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Division of Plant Industry building in Gainesville.
