Citrus Season Will Begin Under Old Canker Rule

 Southeast AgNet’s Ernie Neff In the wake of Monday’s deadline for comments on the USDA’s proposed new canker rule, Florida’s fresh citrus industry is hopeful the rule will be adopted quickly. The rule would ease fresh fruit regulations and allow shipments to other citrus producing states. However, one expert reminds the industry that even if the rule is approved, it won’t go into effect until after this citrus season begins. Southeast AgNet’s Ernie Neff has the details in this report.
