Using Genetic Modification for Medicine

Randall Weiseman General

Patients who suffer from a hereditary deficiency that puts them at high risk during surgeries and childbirth, will benefit from a drug that will be made in goats genetically modified to secrete the needed compound in their milk. The drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration will be used to untangle blood clots in patients who lack sufficient quantities of a certain protein and will be given in hospital settings.
