California Citrus Fears Psyllid and HLB It May Bring

California citrus growers and industry officials appear to be attempting to ‘eradicate’ the citrus psyllid from their midst, but others around the world who have dealt with the pest say that may prove difficult if not impossible from experience learned so far. As scientists from around the globe gather this week in Orlando, Florida and some California growers prepare to join hundreds of others to learn the latest about HLB, or citrus ‘greening’ disease, this report focuses on what is going on in California now with USDA throwing a few million into the citrus psyllid battle there.
