SE Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference Announces Sold Out Trade Show
The SE Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference, sponsored by the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Association and South Carolina Peach Council, announces the 2009 trade show has been completely sold out. The trade show provides conference attendees the opportunity to compare products, talk with industry representatives, observe demonstrations, and learn about the latest in fresh produce technology while networking with other growers. The conference will be held January 9 – 11, 2009, in Savannah, GA, and also offers informative educational sessions, including a special food safety focus forum, designed to bring the most up-to-date and relevant information to the fruit and vegetable industry.

The trade show features over 180 vendors and suppliers specifically targeted to attendees. “We are very pleased with this year’s trade show exhibitors,” says Rebecca Smith, Trade Show Coordinator. “We have assembled a wide variety of both new and returning vendors that are showcasing the newest and best products available today. Attendees will not only be pleased by the number of booths, but also by the caliber and variety of the representatives.”

Trade show hours are Friday, January 9, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Hot and cold meals, as well as drinks and snacks are offered in the trade show area.

Other events on the trade show floor include a silent auction featuring products valued at more than $40,000.00. The items, donated by industry representatives, are available to attendees on a bid basis and include seed, chemicals, fertilizer, jewelry, painting and gift baskets. Funds generated from the auction go to support fruit and vegetable research and other association activities. A Friday night reception and live auction will also be held on the trade show floor to give attendees even more opportunity to visit with exhibitors.

Additionally, the conference also offers attendees a program designed for spouses featuring Mark Ballard, a Saturday night reception and an industry roundtable discussing issues of mutual concern to growers and suppliers alike.
