In a move to show their commitment to expanded greening research, here is the wording of the actual resolution passed by Florida Citrus Commissioners:
ADOPTED BY THE FCC AT THE JANUARY 16, 2008 MEETING
The Florida Citrus Commission clearly recognizes the significant threat that Citrus Greening disease poses to the future of our industry. We also recognize the opportunity and necessity for our industry to tackle this problem together.
The Florida Citrus Commission, by this motion, expresses its willingness to provide whatever support is required or asked of it by the research community to respond to Florida growers’ greening and canker needs.
We also have the expectation that accountability will be maintained and request to participate in that process.
