Joining a couple dozen Farm Broadcasters from around the Nation in Washington DC this week, we enjoyed a personal audience with many of USDA’s top brass, inlcuding Ag Secretary Johanns and many others. Visits included USDA Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs Bruce Knight and Dr Ron DeHaven, Administrator of USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). I posed the question to both of them about when citrus folks could expect the new rules about fresh fruit shipments to be published. This report contains Dr DeHaven’s entire response to that question.
