Vilsack Announces Funds to Promote Ag Exports

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 11, 2009-Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that 70 U.S. trade organizations received more than $234 million in Fiscal Year 2009 to help promote American food and agricultural products overseas. Vilsack made this announcement at the annual convention of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters.

It’s been a busy fall for the staff at the Georgia Beef Board but their Executive Vice President Josh White said being at various events allowed them to talk with a lot of people about beef and the beef checkoff.

AL Excited about New Beef Plan

Ed Whatley with the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association is exicted about the course for next year’s beef checkoff set by the Alabama State Beef Checkoff Advisory Committee. He said the plan includes incorporating some of the new national beef checkoff advertising.
