The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released their June Cattle on Feed Cattle Report, and it shows the number calves on feed for the slaughter market in the U.S. for feedlots with capacity of 1,000 or more head totaled 11.6 million head on June 1st. Judge Blocks Disaster Program Special Funding to Minority Farmers

A Texas federal judge has temporarily blocked a USDA disaster relief program from giving preferential funding to women and minority farmers. The judge sided with a group of plaintiffs who claimed the program illegally discriminates against white male farmers. Slight Rise in 4-Wheel-Drive Tractor Sales in May

While total agriculture tractor sales in the U.S. dropped 11.5% in May compared to a year ago, sales of 4-wheel-drive tractors saw an increase of 9.4%. According to new data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the increase follows a rise of 24% back in April compared to the year before, and the data also indicates year-to-date sales of 4-wheel-drive tractors are up 3.2%. …
