Alabama Beef Checkoff Showcases 2025 Promotion and Outreach Successes

The Alabama Beef Checkoff is highlighting a strong slate of promotion, education, and research efforts in its 2025 update to members, underscoring the program’s continued investment in strengthening beef demand and supporting producers across the state.
Among the most impactful areas was Marketing and Consumer Outreach, where the Checkoff leveraged high-visibility platforms to reach consumers at scale. College football graphics placed on AL.com generated an impressive 24.4 million impressions, tapping into Alabama’s strong sports culture. The Southeastern States Summer Grilling Campaign added another layer of reach, delivering 3.9 million video impressions and 2.3 million audio ad listens. Additionally, a $5,000 national club store e-commerce campaign proved highly efficient, generating $107 in beef sales for every dollar invested.
October Beef Month remained a cornerstone of consumer promotion. Activities included cooking segments on local television news programs, a prominent backstretch banner at Talladega Superspeedway, and a variety of digital advertising efforts designed to keep beef top of mind during peak football and grilling season.
Through Education and Outreach, the Alabama Beef Checkoff reached a wide range of audiences. A total of 850 participants completed spring and fall Beef 101 classes, helping improve understanding of beef production and nutrition. The Checkoff also hosted a beef operation tour with the Alabama Dietetics Association and reached an estimated 91,000 attendees through visibility at the MLB Speedway Classic in Bristol, Tennessee.
Producer-focused initiatives remained a priority. Producer Engagement efforts included support for the Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Program, county grant programs, recognition of Cattlemen of Beef Month, and ongoing outreach through the Cattle Connect podcast.
Youth Programs also saw strong participation. The Alabama Junior Cattlemen’s Association (AJCA) recorded 85 participants in the Youth Convention Contest, welcomed 400 youth to fall and spring field days, and engaged 118 youth during the 19th annual AJCA Roundup.
Finally, the Checkoff invested in the future of the industry through Research, supporting six projects focused on meat science, genetics and reproduction, and forages and pasture management.
Together, these efforts highlight the Alabama Beef Checkoff’s commitment to promotion, education, and innovation in 2025.
