USDA FSA County Committee Nominations Now Open

Josh McGill General

USDA FSA

The USDA FSA has opened the nomination period for its 2025 County Committee elections. With more than 2,200 committees nationwide, these local governing bodies play a critical role in how federal programs are implemented at the local level.

FSA Director Bill Beam highlights that nearly 7,700 producers serve on FSA committees, each comprised of 3 to 11 elected members who serve staggered three-year terms. These members—local agricultural producers themselves—have a hand in decisions affecting hiring, outreach, and how federal support reaches rural communities.

To be eligible, nominees must be active participants or cooperators in FSA programs, reside in the county or multi-county jurisdiction up for election, and be eligible to vote in the election.

The nomination form is available at any USDA Service Center or online at fsa.usda.gov/elections. This is a valuable opportunity for producers to shape the policies and programs that impact their local communities every day.

Producers are encouraged to get involved and make their voices heard. For more information, visit southeastagnet.com
