USDA NASS Reports more corn and less soybean acres

The US Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) estimates in their prospective plantings report that producers will be planting 95.3 million acre of corn which is up 5 per cent from last year. These planted acreage increases are expected in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota with 400,000 acres or more. If these projections hold true, the planted area of corn will be the largest on record in Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon and South Dakota. USDA NASS also projected that producers intend to plant 4 percent fewer acres of soybeans this year with decreases expected in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Record high acreage of soybeans are expected to be planted in New York and Ohio. All Wheat planted area for 2025 is projected to be 45.4 million acres, down 2% from last year.
