National Ag Day will be observed Tuesday, March 18th. The day, with the theme “Together, We Grow,” is to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by U.S. farmers and ranchers. Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies, and countless others across America join together to recognize the contributions that agriculture makes to our lives.
The Agriculture Council of America hosts the campaign on a national level, but awareness efforts in communities across America are vital. The National Ag Day Program encourages Americans to understand how food and fiber products are produced, value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy, and appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant, and affordable products. Agriculture provides almost everything we eat, use, and wear daily, but too few people truly understand this contribution.
On Tuesday, FFA student members, advisors, and leaders across the country will come together to share the importance of agriculture with elected officials and their communities as part of National Ag Day.
The National FFA Organization, the nation’s premier school-based student leadership organization with over one million members in all 50 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, uses National Ag Day as another opportunity to celebrate and advocate for agricultural education and the impact of agriculture on our world. FFA is a key component of agricultural education that prepares the next generation of leaders in the science, business, and technology of agriculture, helping each student develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.
“Agriculture is not just about providing food and fiber; it is the foundation of innovation, sustainability, and community development. Every day, farmers and agricultural professionals work tirelessly to adopt advanced technologies, improve yields, and care for the environment, ensuring that future generations can thrive,” said Scott Stump, CEO of the National FFA Organization. “Ag Day is a reminder of the collective effort and dedication it takes to keep our world nourished, clothed, and thriving. Together, we can honor those who make it all possible and inspire others to contribute to this vital field.”
