released by key industry groups, including the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) and the National Chicken Council (NCC). The study shows how broilers, turkeys, and eggs contribute to jobs, wages, and government revenue across the country.
The broiler industry alone supports over 1.3 million jobs, generating $90.9 billion in wages and $36.7 billion in government revenue. In total, the industry drives $449.5 billion in economic activity. The report provides detailed data by state, county, and congressional district, allowing a closer look at local economic benefits.
“This study highlights the positive impact poultry and eggs have on communities nationwide,” said Nath Morris, president of USPOULTRY.
Gary Kushner, interim NCC president, emphasized that the industry’s impact goes beyond the farm. “Chicken means jobs across many sectors – from farms and processing plants to transportation, retail, and restaurants.”
The study, funded by USPOULTRY and conducted by John Dunham & Associates, uses 2024 data and the latest research methods. To explore the full economic impact of the chicken industry, visit www.chickenfeedsamerica.org.
