The Georgia Cotton Commission (GCC) reminds farmers that Using Pesticides Wisely (UPW) training locations have been announced for 2024. It is vital that growers attend a UPW course to help Georgia maintain its pesticide stewardship reputation.
All applicators must be trained to use in-crop dicamba products: Engenia, XtendiMax and Tavium. The training will fulfill federal label requirements that ensures each applicator is properly trained to apply the products. Georgia applicators must complete the UPW classroom training with locations provided below:
Feb. 27, 9 a.m., Brooks County; March 1, 9 a.m., Worth County; March 5, 9 a.m., Mitchell County; March 6, 9 a.m., Pulaski County; March 8, 9 a.m., Colquitt County; March 12, 9 a.m., Coffee County, March 13, 9 a.m., Pierce County; March 14, 9 a.m., Bulloch County; March 14, 1:30 p.m., Emanuel County; March 18, 10 a.m., Burke County; March 19, 9 a.m., Decatur County; March 20, 2 p.m., Gordon County; March 21, 10 a.m., Madison County; March 22, 9 a.m., Sumter County; March 25, 9 a.m., Toombs County; March 26, 9 a.m., Taylor County; March 26, 1:30 p.m., Laurens County; April 3, 9 a.m., Tift County; April 4, 9 a.m., Terrell County.
The trainings are coordinated by the Georgia Department of Agriculture and University of Georgia (UGA) Cooperative Extension. Online trainings will not be available. Meetings will last about 1.5 hours.
