As we celebrate Thanksgiving this year, the National Turkey Federation (NTF) wants consumers to know how the American turkey industry plays an essential role in feeding people around the world, creating jobs and helping to maintain a strong economy. The NTF is made up of hardworking men and women on family farms, in the plant and everywhere in between. That includes animal health, packaging, equipment, transportation and more. All of these positions play a role in the production, processing and delivery of turkeys each year.
But according to USDA Outlook Board Chairman Mark Jekanowski, times are challenging right now for the turkey industry.
