(ACA/MONTGOMERY, AL/Sept. 29, 2023) — The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association (ACA) is proud to coordinate October Beef Month in Alabama.
“October Beef Month is an opportunity to highlight Alabama’s cattle industry each year and the wonderful people who work hard daily to produce our favorite protein, beef,” said ACA Executive Vice President Erin Beasley. “Join us as we celebrate by using beef when you tailgate or gather for other occasions this month.”
ACA festivities started early with September featuring the Mobtown Burger Week kickoff in Mobile, a governmental proclamation, and the start of the Bama’s Best Beef contest, all highlighting one thing – beef.
In October, beef will stay at the center of the plate with race fan appreciation at Talladega Superspeedway, pitmaster-led grilling classes at BBQ Hill, news and cooking segments on local channels across the state, and a strong social media campaign.
Along with the ACA-hosted events are county-wide promotions held by county cattlemen’s chapters. One of the most popular being Cowboys in the Classroom, a program for elementary schools that gets local cattlemen into the classroom to teach students about raising beef cattle. County chapters will also be handing out beef promotional items at county fairs across the state during the month.
Cattle production is the second largest animal agriculture industry in the state of Alabama, falling only behind poultry production. Beef cattle production in Alabama represents a $2.5 billion industry that supplies over 7,000 jobs to Alabamians.
October Beef Month is a month set aside each year to celebrate the industry’s success and promote its product throughout Alabama.
