The upcoming Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is not just an opportunity for the Georgia Bulldogs to advance to the National Championship game. It provides the Georgia Peanut Commission another chance to do what it does best – promote Georgia peanuts.
Joy Crosby, assistant executive director with the Georgia Peanut Commission, discusses the importance of her organization promoting such a high-profile event.
“The Georgia Peanut Commission has been a sponsor of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and the kickoff games for several years now. We’re really excited to be a sponsor of the Peach Bowl this year on Dec. 31 when the Georgia Bulldogs take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. We’re looking forward to a fun day,” Crosby said. “We’ll have Georgia peanuts in the Fan Fest event in the Georgia World Congress Center. We’ll be handing out samples there along with some other peanut promotional items. Once fans enter the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, they’ll also see Georgia peanuts mentioned throughout the game on the LED ribbon board as well as on other digital signage inside the game.
“This event really provides us an opportunity to meet with the fans and promote Georgia peanuts being a healthy snack that athletes rely on. Of course, as we all know peanuts are packed with protein. It’s just a good overall snack for those who are exercising, those who are athletes or even the fans who are cheering their favorite team on.”
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31.
