The Georgia Cotton Commission (GCC) reminds producers and industry leaders that its annual meeting will return to an in-person format on Wednesday, Jan. 26. Taylor Sills, executive director of the GCC, discusses the importance of this year’s event.

“A lot of growers have questions and sometimes they don’t want to ask them on the virtual format. They want to talk to somebody face to face. We certainly understand and appreciate that,” Sills said. “It’s also a great time to get together and fellowship. Our growers and our community have been through a lot this last year and a half. I think it’s a great opportunity to come together and celebrate our industry and the efforts of our growers to produce the safest and most abundant fiber in the world.”

The event will start with educational sessions by University of Georgia specialists at 8 a.m.

There is no charge to attend. The GCC asks that those interested in attending to pre-register to help with meal plans. Register online at www.ugatiftonconference.caes.uga.edu or call (229) 386-3416.
