The Georgia Cotton Commission (GCC) reminds producers about multiple upcoming field days throughout Georgia.
Taylor Sills, executive director of the Georgia Cotton Commission, said the field days, coordinated by University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, will be held in August and September.
“There’s going to be the annual Midville row-crop field day over at the experiment station in Midville, Burke County on Aug. 11. There’s going to be a field day at the Plains station in Sumter County on Aug. 31. Then the annual Tifton campus cotton and peanut field day will be Sept. 8. There’s also potentially going to be a field day at the Phil Campbell Research Center in Watkinsville or the Iron Horse Farm in Greensboro. That hasn’t been scheduled yet,” Sills said.
“I would encourage growers to put these on their radar. They’re usually pretty well-attended events. Of course, if anyone has any questions about what’s going to happen at each event, please call us at the Cotton Commission or call your local county Extension office.”
