Gainesville, Fla.–April 29, 2021 – Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick issued this statement after Governor Ron DeSantis signed SB 88, Farming Operations, a historic bill that modernizes Florida’s Right to Farm Act.
“On behalf of Florida’s farmers and ranchers, the Florida Farm Bureau Federation applauds Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature for their support of Florida’s Right to Farm legislation.
Strengthening Florida’s Right to Farm law minimizes nuisance lawsuits and claims, enabling farmers to focus on the mission of providing food and remaining in business. Across the state, more than 47,000 family farms are committed to growing the food that we need to survive.”
The Right to Farm bill signing ceremony included Florida farmers, Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick, Senate President Wilton Simpson and bill sponsors, Sen. Jason Brodeur and Rep. Jayer Williamson, highlighting the strong bipartisan support of SB 88.
The Right to Farm bill will take effect July 1, 2021.
