On Wednesday, Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock was in the Southwest part of the state visiting agricultural producers at various stops. From fruit and vegetables to peanuts, cotton, pecans, and more. Warnock told Southeast AgNet’s Tyron Spearman this is such a huge sector in the Georgia economy.
Also on that tour with Senator Warnock was Congressman Sanford Bishop, who told Spearman he was pleased that farmers were able to talk to the new Senator.
During their stops, Senator Warnock and Congressman Bishop were able to talk with producers throughout Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District. They highlighted how the recently passed American Rescue Plan, the expansive COVID relief package signed into law earlier this month, is directing critical federal assistance and support to help Georgia’s farmers and rural communities.
