Miss Florida Citrus, Leila Sabet, is continuing to represent the Florida citrus industry at various events, most recently at the Indian River Citrus League’s Treasure Coast Fun Shoot at the Vero Beach Shooting Club. While there, she helped sell raffle tickets, took photos with the competition winners, and helped promote Natalie’s Orchid Island citrus products.
She also attended the first Florida Citrus Festival at Countryside Citrus, in Vero Beach, where she distributed fresh-squeezed orange juice to over 500 attendees who were on hand for the festivities. Children and adults alike were delighted to meet her — citrus-themed mask and all!
As the keynote speaker for Florida State University’s (FSU) oldest and most prestigious leadership honors society, Garnet & Gold Key, she spoke to students about the importance of authenticity in leadership.
Sabet was also the keynote speaker at the Women Supporting Women Florida and Girls Meet Up Orlando event. At this event, she held an “EqualiTEA” virtual workshop over tea, which is a Lift & Be Uplifted initiative. She spoke about challenging bias/stereotypes, promoting yourself as a woman in the workplace, and ultimately shattering the glass ceiling.
