Across Florida all eyes are on Hurricane Dorian. Wednesday, Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 26 counties in anticipation of a powerful hit from the storm. The order covers numerous functions of state government, while also clearing the way for agreements with other states to coordinate resources. According to the News Service of Florida, the order covers all coastal counties on the East Coast, from Nassau to Monroe, and a number of inland counties. Tropical-storm force winds are expected to reach the state by Saturday, with the winds extending as far as Pensacola late Sunday. Thus, folks all along the Panhandle are also watching the track of this storm.

Those in agriculture are being urged to prepare and the University of Florida/IFAS notes every farm and ranch in the state must have an emergency plan in case of a Hurricane. From stocking up on feedand having health-care supplies on hand for animals, to making sure generators are readyand in working order, making sure chainsawsare in good working order and you are stocked up on mixed fuel, to being stocked up on fence repair materials.
