Ranchers across the state of Florida are invited to attend the 2019 Florida Beef Cattle Short Course, May 8-10, in Gainesville. This year’s program titled, “Connecting the Dots, Calf to Carcass”, will cover a variety of topics. Some of those include looking at Market and Industry Trends in the Beef Business, Customer Satisfaction and National Tenderness Survey, Value and Mechanics of Meat Exports, Cattle Cloning: Alpha and Omega, Genetic Markers for Meat Quality, a discussion on the Fed Beef Challenge/How Does Florida Cattle Compare along with a Producer Panel discussing the Experience Feeding Cattle.
The 2019 Florida Beef Cattle Short Course Program Committee and the Department of Animal Sciences notes this event will allow you take away some new knowledge about the beef cattle industry’s future direction, additional management decision making skills, and new information about specific production and management practices that impact your beef cattle enterprise.
Plus, they note this year there is no charge for the Steak-Out Dinner that Thursday evening. If you are going to attend the Steak-Out please RSVP to Rebecca Matta (rmatta@ufl.edu) so they can have an accurate head count for the meal.
