The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) wants to remind agricultural producers affected by Hurricane Michael that representatives from USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Farm Service Agency (FSA), Rural Development (RD) and Risk Management Agency (RMA) will present disaster assistance workshops next week.
Topics to be discussed include emergency assistance for livestock & crop-related expenses and losses; financial assistance programs to help with farm and farmland damage; deadlines for applying for disaster assistance programs and programs to help with restoration and rehabilitation of farm and ranch land.
Two of these meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 6:
- 9-11 a.m. for Bay-Holmes-Washington Counties at the First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 1300 South Blvd., Chipley, Fla. 32428
- 2-4 p.m. for Jackson County at the Jackson County Agricultural Center Auditorium, 2741 Penn Ave, Marianna, Fla. 32448
Two more will be Wednesday, November 7:
- 9-11 a.m. for Calhoun County at the Rivertown Community Church Sanctuary, 19359 SR 71 North, Blountstown, Fla. 32424
- 2-4 p.m. for Gadsden County at the FAMU Research and Extension Center, 4259 Bainbridge Highway, Quincy, Fla. 32352
