On Saturday, March 31, 2018, the University of Florida’s Dairy Unit in Hague will host its fifth “Family Day at the Dairy Farm”. Visitors will see a real working dairy farm, learn about dairy production, animal health and welfare, and hear experts discuss UF efforts that help provide local, top-quality milk to Floridians. The event is free to the public and will be held rain or shine, but the weather forecast is favorable.
Up to 1700 visitors are expected this year, after the successes in 2012 (850 visitors), 2013 (1500 visitors), 2016 (800 visitors while raining), and 2017 (1600 visitors). Visitors are primarily families living in the greater Gainesville area. The Family Day at the Dairy Farm event site is https://www.facebook.com/familydayatthedairyfarm
