Cathy Isom tells you what you can do with all of those Christmas cards after the holidays. That’s coming up on This Land of Ours.
Get Creative with Your Christmas Cards
Christmas cards are lovely gestures from friends and family. But when the holidays have passed the cards either get tossed in the recycle bin or thrown in a drawer, or piled up in a corner somewhere.
If you’re not recycling them, consider upcycling instead. With a little bit of thought, scissors, ribbon and some glue, you can take those cards and get creative.
For example:
- Make beautiful framed holiday art.
- Or, snazzy gift cards to use on the gifts for next year.
- If you have a lot, old Christmas cards can be glued on a sheet of paper or old cereal box to create colorful placemats.
- If the cardstock is sturdy enough to hold its own shape, tiny gift boxes can be crafted from those old cards. You could make them traditional rectangular boxes or pyramids and pillow boxes. And that means no wrapping!
