More Earth Friendly Tips for the Holidays
If ever there were a time to make the most of bulk bins at your local grocery store or market the holidays are it. With so many snacks to distribute and casseroles to bake, the bulk bins are the perfect way to buy in quantity and cut down on packaging. Even better, using reusable bags you’ve either bought or made yourself for buying from the bulk bins. This is a much earth-friendlier way of feasting.
Cooking our own food – rather than buying pre-packaged and processed food – is another way we can make earth-friendly conscious decisions. Additionally, you could organize a potluck and ask everyone to bring local, organic offerings rather than mass quantities of low-quality food products. It’s like killing two birds with one stone…making an ecologically friendly choice while giving to your local community rather than corporations.
