Agri View: Record of Nothing in Particular

Dan Agri View

record nothing

Everett Griner talks about Australian farmers setting a world record in today’s Agri View.

There is nothing particularly interesting about this story. I just found it unusual and I thought that you might too. A team of Australian farmers have set a new world record for agriculture. They sprayed 6,515 acres of land in a 24 hour period. Well that is better than anybody else. They averaged 271 acres an hour. In one of those 24 hour periods they sprayed 372 acres. That’s another world record. They used 28,857 gallons of spray. That averages about 4.1 gallons per acre. It covered 15 different fields. Now all that spraying was done at an average of 15 1/2 miles per hour. They had no specific reason for doing that except they wanted to set a world record. And they did. What I would like to know is. How much did it cost?

That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
