Back in mid-2015 statistics show that consumers were eating poultry than beef or pork. Well now comes a report about what eating all of that chicken, turkey and eggs does for the national economy. Look at this. All together the U.S. poultry industry provides 441 billion dollars for the nation’s economy. But wait, I’ll break that down. There are 6,344 firms that have a part in the production. That translates in almost 1.7 million jobs. Those jobs pay 96 billion dollars in wages. Four and a half billion goes into the economy. They put 34 billion dollars into the government revenue. And finally those jobs pay an average in over 57,000 dollars in wages and benefits. See. So the next time you find chicken on your plate, eat hardy. It is good for all of us.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
