Cathy Isom gives us some great last-minute upcycled gift ideas. That’s coming up on This Land of Ours.
We’re down to the final days before Christmas. And if you’ve waited til’ the last minute but still need some gift ideas, you may not need to look any further than your home. Remember that upcycling, with a little imagination and creativity, can become the perfect gift for anyone on your list. Like personalized tree ornaments. Take some old buttons and string them together to make a wreath. Got old cookie cutters? Just add a hook, or paint them, and your good to go. They can also be used to frame a picture. Old puzzle pieces can also be painted and glued together for a frame or holiday shape. How about an old Scrabble game you never play. Use the letters to spell out something seasonal. Another handy holiday present, take an old can – something small enough to hold pencils or toothbrushes – and instead turn it into a lantern. The ideas are endless. If it’s something you already have at home, there’s a good chance you can make it into something someone else will absolutely cherish. Not to mention saving time and the environment.
