The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association fall quarterly board meeting is taking place today at the ACA building in Montgomery. Producers from across the state are on hand to discuss the proposed budget for both the association and beef checkoff program for 2017. But all have also discussed the drought conditions they are experiencing, which includes dry ponds and streams on many farms in the state. A majority of hands in the room raised when asked how many were having water problems on their farm. And those who have access, mentioned having to utilize a public water system.
