From the Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries:
MONTGOMERY, AL— Commissioner of Agriculture John McMillan and the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association will honor Montgomery Department of Public Safety personnel at Beef Day at the Farmer’s Market on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the State Farmer’s Market in Montgomery.
October is Beef Month in Alabama and Beef Day at the Farmer’s Market is one of many events taking place during the month of beef promotion and education. In addition to enjoying steak sandwiches and honoring public safety employees at the event, the Department of Agriculture and the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association will salute one policeman and firefighter who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
We invite you to attend this event as Commissioner McMillan will hold a short press conference at noon to honor Department of Public Safety staffers and discuss the economic impact of Alabama’s $2.5 billion cattle industry. As a member of the media, you will enjoy a complimentary steak sandwich lunch provided by Alabama’s hardworking cattlemen.
